Villagers gather around a sick couple. Hondon, the shaman, can see invisible body decorations. He and Lourenco Kithaulhu lead chanting sessions. A pet monkey jumps around the room.
During a break in Hondon and Kithaulhu's ceremony, a sick man sits up to drink water and villagers talk and laugh. They resume chanting; Hondon's wife enters a trance.
Villagers chant for a sick man. Kithaulhu and Hondon suck worms from the patient's stomach. The chanting continues.
