Omar lives in the United States with his teenage brother Abudi, who he is acting as a father. Abudi lost his leg in an airstrike, and they left Syria. Omar is trying to get them both asylum.

Diaa: Masyaf, Syria (13:22)

Diaa relentlessly searches for her missing son Mohammed. She refuses to lose hope, though other family members have. Her niece, who is living in France, urges her to move on.

Safwan: Butzbach, Germany (12:48)

Safwan, Yasmin's husband, lives in temporary housing in Germany with other Syrians. He and his roommates are working to reunite with their families.

Safwan and Yasmin (10:12)

Safwan, Yasmin, and their children reunite in Germany after more than two years. Yasmin and the children have to stay at a refugee camp until Safwan can find permanent housing.
