Description

The most dynamic period as Nazism is in the death throes. 101st Division heroics in the Siege of Bastogne, Operation Market Garden and the collapse begins as Hitler holds on hoping his V2 rockets (and possibly the atomic bomb), will transform his power, but again his hopes are dashed by the allies in Operation Crossbow and with Berlin being approached from three sides Adolf Hitler’s reign ends as he commits suicide on 30 April 1945. The horrors of Nazi Holocaust are revealed and filmed by some of the world’s leading film directors. The German film Downfall, Judgement at Nuremburg, The Young Lions & Schindler's List tell this end and the misery, tragedy, and shame of the death camps of the final solution . The war continues in the Pacific, with the final battles such as Okinawa. Again, we see this story told in the John Wayne classic, and from both sides with Eastwood’s duet of films. The nuclear age has begun and on August 6th 1945 President Truman takes the decision to release the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima and again on the 9th on Nagasaki, the war in Japan is extinguished and VJ Day on August 15th marks the end of WW2.
