Two violins play the shortest movements; a trio of pianos and a clarinet play the second. Bernstein conducts the New York Philharmonic in the Saint-Saëns composition. Soloists include the Segal sisters and Green.

"Carnival of Animals": Performance: "The Birdhouse" and "Pianists" (01:24)

The flute depicts birds in the aviary. Bernstein conducts the New York Philharmonic in a movement from the Saint-Saëns composition. Soloists include the Segal sisters and Robison.

"Carnival of Animals": Performance: "The Pianist" (01:29)

This movement pokes fun at students performing scales for practice. Bernstein conducts the New York Philharmonic in the Saint-Saëns composition. Soloists include the Segal sisters.

"Carnival of Animals": Performance: "Fossils" (03:14)

Saint-Saëns makes allusion to six compositions including "Danse Macabre," French folk songs, and Rossini's "The Barber of Seville." Bernstein conducts the New York Philharmonic. Soloists include the Segal sisters, Karr, Cirone, Hopper, Robison, and Green.

"Carnival of Animals": Performance: "The Swan" (03:04)

This movement is traditionally performed on a cello. Karr plays the double bass solo accompanied by the Segal Sisters.

"Carnival of Animals": Performance: "Grand Finale" (03:01)

The donkey is the last animal heard in the Saint-Saëns composition. Bernstein conducts the New York Philharmonic in the last movement. Soloists include the Segal sisters, Karr, Cirone, Hopper, Robison, and Green.
